Kendall Jenner: Killing It on the Runway

article-2510228-19850A3D00000578-215_634x945-1If you have ever tuned into an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians (KUWTK), you know that it is an E television series that chronicles the lives of the Kardashians – Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob – and Jenners – Kris, Caitlyn (formerly Bruce), Kendall and Kylie. From day-to-day business meetings, public appearances and exotic vacations, to family drama, cat fights and family love, the series focuses on the day to day lives of the Kardashian/Jenner clan.

It seems that overnight, Kendall Jenner has redefined her personal brand from KUWTK reality star to one of the world’s top fashion models. With an Instagram following of 28M, Kendall has been labelled to be part of a fashion movement called ‘Social Media Modelling’ by Harper’s Bazaar and ‘the Instagirl Era’ by Vogue and has been named one of the most influential teens in 2014.

Walking for high fashion labels such ash Marc Jacobs, Givenchy and Chanel as well as being chosen for the new global face of Estee Lauder, Kendall has been able to separate herself from the Kardashian brand and was able to re-identify herself and claim her spot in the high fashion/Hollywood industry.

In addition to modelling, Kendall has extended her personal brand to include two nail colours by ‘Nicole by OPI’ called All Kendall-ed Up and Kendall on the Katwalk. She, along with her sister Kylie, have also launched a jewelry, shoe and handbag line and have collaborated with Topshop for a clothing line.

I must say, I am very impressed with the way Kendall was able to branch out of the Kardashian brand into a top model sensation. Even though Kendall is not a Kardashian per say, she was and still is labelled with the Kardashian name and what/how that name resonates with the public and let’s be honest, who takes the Kardashians seriously? But, regardless of her family’s name and reputation, Kendall has been able to make a serious change – both career and brand wise. She has exploded as a high fashion runway model. She is taken seriously and in my opinion, deserves the success she is getting. At the ripe age of 19, Kendall has the whole world in front of her. My hat goes off to her and I look forward to following Kendall and her bright future in redefining the fashion industry.
